Kieffer, Charles and Michelle Serving in Poland
Ministry Description:
Charles and Michelle are currently serving as church planters in Poland.

The Kieffer’s have four children: Katelyn, Rachel, Chaz, and Luke.

Country Profile:
Poland is located in central Europe, east of Germany. Historically, it has been an area of conflict because of flat terrain and the lack of natural barriers on the North European Plain.
Poland gained its independence in 1918 only to be overrun by Germany and the Soviet Union in World War II. It became a Soviet satellite country following the war, but one that was comparatively tolerant and progressive. Poland joined the NATO alliance in 1999. Poland today stands out as one of the most successful and open transition economies. The privatization of small and medium state-owned companies and a liberal law on establishing new firms marked the rapid development of a private sector now responsible for 70% of economic activity.

Nearly 39 million people live in Poland. Almost 98% are Polish and the others are either German, Ukrainian or Byelorussian.

Ninety-five percent of Poles are Roman Catholic (75% practicing). Eastern Orthodox, Protestants and other religious groups make up the remaining 5%.

Testimonies:
Charles achieved success in sports and scholastic endeavors during high school. After entering college, he struggled to find significance in his life. During his second semester he received a new roommate who shared God’s plan of salvation. Charles opened his heart to Jesus and found purpose and significance for living. As a new believer, he became involved in a Bible Study where he learned of the great need for missionaries. At age 11, Michelle asked her dad what made his life so different. He told her of Christ’s forgiveness and love, and she decided she wanted Jesus in her life.
During college, working with Campus Crusade, and ministering as pastor of Wyanett Evangelical Free Church in Princeton, Minnesota, the Kieffer’s have enjoyed sharing the Lord and seeing people grow in Him. Michelle was active in the children’s ministry at Wyanett. Charles and Michelle are involved in community life and enjoy interaction with people of different walks of life.
