Mavis grew up in the northwest corner of Cottonwood County, the daughter of a dairy farmer.  After graduation from Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN, she became increasingly interested in the mission field.  The Lord led her to dedicate her life to foreign missions, and she spent time in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Zaire, Africa.  She, along with her missionary colleagues, was forced to leave that country when civil war broke out.  Their departure came so quickly that many personal possessions were left behind in the missions compound.  Following additional education she went to the Cameroon, Africa to minister to missionary kids at the Rain Forest School.  When her elderly mother became ill she returned home to Westbrook, MN, to care for her until her passing.  The Lord again tugged on Mavis to return to the Rain Forest Academy to minister to young people.  We rejoice that she is able to serve God as long as He gives her health and strength for work on the mission field.

Birthday:  September 11th

Prayer Requests: She is under supported by about 10%, please pray that her support will be forthcoming. Also, when she was home in July she was able to get shots in her knee to relieve pain. Please pray for continued relief of the pain.
